This is the Edexcel International GCSE Physics 4PH1 Paper 1, sat in October/November 2024. Do the paper under exam timing first, then mark it yourself with the mark scheme. That second step is where the grade actually moves.
What Paper 1 is testing
- Edexcel Paper 1, one hundred and ten marks in two hours. It covers the whole specification, including the Paper 2 only content if you are on the higher route.
- Edexcel gives more marks for straight recall than Cambridge does. The equation list is worth memorising cold.
- Practical questions come up in the written paper. Know the core practicals by name and by method.
- Six mark written answers are marked by levels. Structure it, use the physics words, and link each point to the next.
