What Paper 4 is testing

• Theory paper, eighty marks in an hour and fifteen minutes, Extended tier.
• One mark is one scoring point. A four mark question needs four distinct statements, not one idea repeated.
• Explain questions want a cause linked to an effect. "The resultant force is zero, so the acceleration is zero, so the speed stays constant" scores. "It stays the same" does not.
• Graph questions are marked on the gradient and the area. Say which one you are using and why.
